The spookiest month of the year is upon us and since we’re in a global pandemic, a lot of us will be spending Halloween indoors.


One of the best things to get into the Halloween spirit is to binge-watch all the spooky content that many streaming services provide.


When the leaves start to hit the ground and Spirit Halloween opens up, there’s nothing better than forgetting your responsibilities and making yourself uncomfortably anxious.


To celebrate the spookiness of Halloween, here is a compiled list of movies and shows that wills et the spooky mood.


Ratched (2020)

A nurse who is hired by Dr. Hanover to work at Lucia State Hospital, but her motive to work

there is to break her foster brother Edmund out of the hospital after he is admitted there for

killing several priests.

Hereditary (2018)

An absolutely terrifying paranormal horror—featuring Toni Collette in impeccable form as the

Graham family matriarch

US (2019)

This allegorical horror features a family who discover their violent doppelgängers while on

vacation.

A Quiet Place (2018)

This post-apocalyptic sci-fi horror flick follows John Krasinski and Emily Blunt trying to get

their family through the end times.

The Shining (1980)

An aspiring writer and recovering alcoholic (Jack Nicholson!) accepts a position as the

off-season caretaker of a historic hotel and moves his wife (Shelley Duvall!) and son with him.

Pan's Labyrinth (2006)

Guillermo del Toro’s grim fantasy is terrifying, beautiful, and against the backdrop of Franco-era Spain.

Saw (2004)

This movie revolves around the Jigsaw Killer, who tortures victims he believes are complacent

or guilty, in order to make them appreciate their time on Earth.

The Exorcist (1973)

A scary movie with a scarier real-life history.

Carrie (1976)

In this high school-turned-horror story, a young misfit ( named Carrie) shows her school bullies

the terrible power that she possesses.

Scream Queens (2017)

It follows a sorority, Kappa Kappa Tau, which becomes plagued by a serial killer, who uses the

university's Red Devil mascot as a disguise.


After watching some of these movies, it’s hard to tell if you’ll be able to sleep a wink.
