At NCC The Voice, our student run website allows students of the Spring 2026 course Publications Workshop COMM2401 at Connecticut State Community College to experience publishing their work and being able to focus on their niche. With a wide range of topics, we provide a space for both new and returning students to focus on their skills and really learn how to become strong journalists.
With the new semester starting, we have a whole new team of journalists who are eager to write. Over the past month, The Voice has published a wide range of articles reflecting the interests and concerns of our students. From in-depth stories on student health and personal journeys, to coverage of current issues plaguing our generation. Our new writers have continued to inform and engage our audience. And with the semester just starting, there is much more to come.
With over 11 articles posted this month, the range of information is incredible. From mental health to music culture, the content on the site cannot be beat. In “How Dogs Are Becoming an Unexpected Ally in Mental Health Support” by Brianna Tapia, readers can explore why emotional support animals are becoming increasingly popular and important among the younger generations. The opinion piece, “My Favorite Band” by Oda Ajaba, draws readers attention to a band with a very interesting story, while “Silent Costs of Doomscrolling: Social Media, Addiction, and Health” by Ashley Harris, investigates the health consequences of the rising issue of social media addiction. Just to highlight a few of the many interesting articles available to read.
With fresh voices and great writers joining us this semester, be sure to tune in and stay updated on what’s happening on The Voice.
