For many this process can be daunting and knowing what to expect from applications and admission teams can be intimidating.
CT State offers a plethora of events for students looking to transfer to college after community college.
The Asnuntuck Campus (Enfield) offers “Transfer Tuesday”. This is a tabling event for students to get information and speak to members of the admissions of select colleges and is hosted by the college almost every Tuesday during the semester.
The Tunxis Campus (Farmington) had its most recent fair on Feb. 25 drawing 30 colleges and universities from New England. If you missed it there's an opportunity to attend the Career and Transfer Fair on March 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at
Quinebaug Valley Danielson Campus in the Atrium. Register here.
Events like these are an opportunity for students to learn about the colleges and universities, but also to find valuable information on such topics as academic offerings, admission criteria, financial aid, and scholarships. Literature was available from the universities.
If you are unable to attend this event, you can find information about different transfer opportunities available at the Resources office. Check CT State Resources online to find out where you may pick up brochures from other colleges and a comprehensive guide to transferring.
For students interested in entering the workforce after their completion of a degree or certificate, CT State has a career services department ready to help. They offer free registration to Handshake; a website rooted in helping college students find jobs and internships during or after completion of their program. Registration for the site is free and only requires your college email. Career Service departments can be found on most campuses. Check out this resource here.
A Connecticut Innovation Talent Fair at Middlesex, also in February, was hosted to aid outgoing students in their attempts to network with high-growth companies for potential internships and jobs.
If you missed this or other opportunities at the colleges contact Guided Pathways or check in at your campus advising office.
