Do you remember what it was like to attend on-campus classes? It was not that long ago that they were moved to online platforms, and yet it feels like it was. People are itching to return to “normal”, but we probably should not just yet.
Yes, I think we should wait a little longer. People have been hibernating for quite some time now, the country at a standstill. I think we could wait a little longer. While this has created some problems, mostly economic, I think that coming out of our caves will only worsen things. I am not the only one, too. Many people are still quite anxious to go out, especially those that have not been vaccinated yet. My biggest concern is if the college should open for the fall semester.
There are some who would like nothing more than to physically participate in their classes and might even argue that the experience is part of why they are paying tuition. It is true, but let us not get ahead of ourselves, because there are also others who have health concerns, or even just not comfortable to go out, and for a course to be in traditional format, all students must be there, otherwise it would just be worse. I have already registered for fall semester.
All my classes are labeled as LRON, and I made sure they were, so I would hate if they were suddenly changed. Overall, I think that our top priority should be the health of this nation, not the economy, because it can be revived later. I think we can all wait a little bit longer for our social human nature to be satisfied, because masks and (some) vaccines will only do so much.
