A Bronx native and first generation college graduate in her family, Candiece Goodall in the new Title V coordinator at NCC.
Goodall is is an ardent supporter of minorities studying abroad in unconventional/atypical study or intern abroad countries, she related in a recent interview. She also had the opportunity to study abroad in Amman, Jordan, one year after 9/11 and that experience transformed her life beyond her wildest dreams.
Goodall has a lot of experience in grant writing, program importation and program management for programs inside and outside the United States. She has worked for NGO’s, government institutions, non profits and community colleges. Goodall also spent five years living in Qatar as she worked internationally.
As a Title V coordinator, Candiece is in charge of the final implementation and institutionalizing of a title V grant that NCC receives from the U.S. Department of Education. The grant is in its final year thus Goodall's role is to make sure the college fulfills all of the deliverables laid out in the grant proposal.
As the Tile V coordinator she is also responsible for supporting recent changes at the college such as SOAR and myPath. An interesting fact Goodall shared with The Voice is that her first passion is to travel and she has been fortunate enough to have travel to over 40 countries. She is also a British citizen and when she travels to Europe, she tries to see her family, and best friends who live in Switzerland and Germany.
Prior to the Arab Spring, Goodall's goal was to retire in Syria. Although her heart is in the Middle East, she love traveling to Southeast Asia. She even went backpacking through Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam in 2010 and had the best experience renting a Vespa and driving through the red dirt roads in Cambodia.
Goodall loves learning about different cultures. When the pandemic is over she is looking forward to going to Indonesia and Bali to visit a college friend. Goodall and her friends like joke that although she is Caribbean, her heart is Arab and her
stomach is Asian.
